Our story
Now part of the Japanese group DIC Corporation since June 1st 2023, Innovation DIC Chemitronics Inc. was founded in 1989, when Canadian and American investors created International PhotoChimie (Canada) Inc. and undertook the construction of the current building located at 725, rue Trotter in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Québec) Canada. Construction work ended in 1990, but it’s only in 1991 that the first production batch was made.
In 1992, the company name was changed to St-Jean Photochimie Inc., and then integrated into the French group PCAS in 1993. The company first specialized in dyes, then diversified its activities to concentrate on microelectronics and printed electronics materials. In 2017, an expansion of activities led St-Jean Photochimie to be purchased by the French group Novacap. Following this acquisition, Novacap unified its brand image by introducing a new group name: SEQENS. Under the supervision of the SEQENS group, PCAS Canada continues to enhance its customer and product portfolio and positions itself as a key player in the field of microelectronics.
Today, the company operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the business continues to grow year after year! Now supported and powered by the DIC Corporation group, which has more than 23,000 employees worldwide and is present in more than 60 countries, the company is currently realizing the largest expansion project in its history to modernize and expand its facilities.
